- I have just received and just started tweaking M-heavy's Dolphine
Overdrive pedal and exploring this pedal. The intial reaction to the
pedal is quite impressive. The small size pedal reacts to the dial quite
fast and when the drive dial set at 11 o'clock, it starts to break, that
gives a tube amp overdrive tone. Since i am using tube amp, i can get
reasonably good tube o/d tone when i placed the pedal before the amp
without cranking up the amp volume. If you have a reasobly good tube
amp, the pedal is better serve as a stacker for the other effect pedals
(i have still yet to spend more time to see how it reacts with other
effect pedals). My amp is notorious of picking hissing when connected to
other pedals/mixer. However, the Dolphine seems quite quiet compare with
other extenal effects. Ony thing is this pedals seems a little costly.
If you can afford the price, it is a good hand-made pedal.

Ease of Use : 10
It wouldn't be easier. Three knobs (very effective ones): gain, volume, and Tone. No manual off course.- Overall Rating : 9
I'm playing jazz and free improve music with folk elements. I'm a pro musicians for almost 20 years, also teaching in a conservatory.
I would buy the Nicetea Drive again for sure. In the last two years i was really try to find a good drive pedal. I owned/tried out a lots of them like: Fulltone Fulldrive II (Mosfet and normal), OCD, Distortion Pro, Fat Booster, Bassdrive, TS-9 (old), TS-808 (new), AC Booster,
TS-9DX, Maxon OD-880, Carl Martin Hot Drive and Boost (I,II,III), Death Rattle, TC VPD1, TC Booster+Distortion (old and new), Rat II (old and new)and a Vox Big Ben. I would recommend the Nicetea Drive for players looking for a cranked-tube-amp sound.

I don't want to compare Dolphin with other Overdrive pedals, because
every pedal has its trait. Just like my dolphin.
Rock, Blues, some jazzy stuff. This pedal is good for that but will not
create a wall of sound type distortion. It would be interesting to use
it for boosting a tube amp. I have a feeling that should sound pretty
good.
I like this pedal's simplicity. The switch is very easy to operate. Much
easier than the similarly built MXR pedals or my BOSS distortion. The
Dolphin definitely helps me achieve certain sounds: Level at 12O' clock,
The sound is really PURE TONE. Can get real smooth sustain without mush
distortion. Level at 10O' clock, Drive at 12O' clock, I describe it as a
"cleaner distortion". I also boost my Ds2 by it, it takes more
portamento and strong distortion to me.
Dolphin works with my other pedals, it's a very marvelous thing, I can
creat more beautiful sound by them.
Thanks mheavy for his work! He really did a great job!

One Volume, One Boost and On/Off. True Bypass. Solid metal case. Very
clean and tidy. However. the pedal will be much more versatile if EQ
could be included. Anyway, the existing feature is still sufficient to
perform its function.

Very simple to use. Just adjust the volume according to your personal
preference. Don't even need a manual.
Overall : 9
I have been long looking for a booster that can boost the guitar signal
that would not add any overdirve on it. This Clean Booster is just right
on my taste. Most of the time, I play with a Fender 57 vintage series
Strat. By turning the booster on, the guitar note becomes more thicker
and brighter. Most important, the guitar character is still there. Once
you have turned it on, you won't turn it off. I even hooked it up with a
cheap Strat, and this little pedal managed to improve the sound quality
a lot. Overall speaking, I would give it a 9 out of 10 because of the
lack of EQ.
